Senior Business Analyst -
- NSW Police (NSWPF)
- Parramatta
- $704.84 per day, including super ($711.11 if ABN)
- Initially until 30th June 2019, but it will extend
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for analysis, requirements gathering, selection, development and delivery of integrated solutions for large and complex programs and Projects within NSWPF. The position works with both internal and external delivery partners within the NSWPF Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI).
Program / Project Overview: The Project is to manage the maintenance refresh of NSWPF ICT Infrastructure to ensure the operational viability and continuity of NSWPF business applications and systems. The objectives of the proposed programme are to:
- Refresh, optimise and future-proof ICT infrastructure services to ensure the reliability and durability of NSWPF business systems and to improve total cost of ownership;
- Refresh, optimise and future-proof cyber security services to protect NSWPF data and systems; and
- Optimise service and support in line with refreshed technologies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years continuous experience of working as a business analyst; in both agile and waterfall environments for major ICT programs / projects
- Demonstrated experience in business process models and associated standard operating procedures using tools and techniques such as BPMN, Visio or System Architect
- Advanced Stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated experience in analysing business problems, conducting gap analysis and identifying root cause
- Extensive experience in the development of instructional and procedural documentation and presentations
- Demonstrated superior communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and negotiation skills with a proven capacity to develop and maintain sound working relationships with end users, key stakeholders, suppliers and project team members
- Demonstrated experience using industry standard software testing tools (e.g. MQC, Quick Test Professional (QTP)) and knowledge of testing methodologies;
- Ability to supervise a small team and to work effectively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
In addition, candidates must have the following project specific skills and expereince:
- Enterprise server systems -Java/Linux/Oracle/SQl DBMS
- Systems integration – ESB, integration services
- IP Network and firewall connectivity
- Server Virtualisation
- High level knowledge of ITIL change management
- High level knowledge of Prince2 and Agile project management
- High level Adabas Natural on mainframe
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated experience in developing business requirements from abstract briefs and preparing functional specifications for complex or large information systems.
