Chief Information Officer / Head of Technology

  • Join Australia’s leading environmental organisation and let your skills shine in support of our important advocacy work protecting Australia’s environment
  • Transformational senior technology role
  • Step up into this newly created CIO role
  • Circa 120k +, and some of the best working conditions in Australia!

Our organisation

The Australian Conservation Foundation is Australia’s national environment organisation – half a million people, creating a world where forests, rivers, people and wildlife thrive.  For more than 50 years, we’ve been protecting the web of life across our continent, from the Kimberley to the Reef and down the Great Dividing Range to Tasmania’s forests.

We bring together people from community, government and business. Our community advocates against pollution and destruction, and for our living world. We hold decision makers to account. We champion big ideas, and find common ground with unlikely partners.  We are proudly independent, non-partisan and funded by donations from our community.

Your role

At ACF our mission is to inspire, our decisions are data driven, our teams are organised, and our people are energised, all of which creates an endless thirst to exploit technology to help us maximise our People Power.

Our journey so far has seen us go paperless, move most systems to the cloud, embrace data analytics, and expand upon the digital channels through which we engage with and involve our stakeholders.

In the newly created role of CIO you will bring the vision and expertise to build from this and take our technical capabilities to the next level.

We are looking for someone to immerse themselves into the needs of our people; to simplify what has become complex with our legacy systems, and to implement what has become possible with advancements in applications, data analytics, machine learning and automation.

As you will know, it’s not just about the technology.

The technical advancement we are committed to can only happen with accompanying organisational change. You’ll bring together our in-house team and work closely with consultants to deliver agility with the necessary understanding of Enterprise Architecture, Agile Development, Integration and DevOps.

Your skills

You will have worked as a leader of significant technology transformation and culture change perhaps as a technical program manager, a solutions architect, an IT Team Leader, or Business Consultant.

It’s in your nature to be curious and to help people at every level to solve problems in innovative ways.

You must have led people through challenging times to success both as a line manager and an influencer, and be looked upon as an inspirational coach from the boardroom to the helpdesk.

You will have intimate knowledge of Office 365, Azure IaaS and PaaS, Voice and Data management from an IT Operations standpoint, and be familiar with the typical business processes of an organisation (Not for Profit is ideal here) from front of house to the back office.

You must be extremely data savvy, and have implemented strategies to acquire data from disparate places (structured and unstructured), make sense of it, and mine it for insights. A major focus of the role is to implement big data platforms and analytics to service the thirst for actionable insights across the organisation.

You will thrive in an environment of challenge and empowerment where everyone strives to make maximum impact by helping others succeed and continuously improving the way that work gets done.

If this sounds like the step up you have been looking for, we want to hear from you.

Make your mark by applying now!

  • Submit your application including a cover letter and resume combined into one document (word or pdf) to Anthony Moore, Finance & Operations Director, [email protected] by noon Friday 20th July 2018
