We are currently recruiting for a Lead Enterprise Infrastructure Architect to define our enterprise IT systems architecture, by translating business strategy and requirements, whilst adhering to architecture and security standards.

 

Responsible for developing and managing a holistic view of the QBE’s Strategy/Roadmaps, Reference Architecture and Frameworks, Standards, processes, and governance around IT Services and technology assets, you will have significant EA exposure within large, global businesses.

The opportunity

 

  • Contribute to the development &maintenance of Global IT architectural standards
  • Drive and integrate new technologies to improve business processes & decision-making
  • Partner with company innovation centre to assist in experiments and identifying alignment to architecture and business.
  • Recommend and participate in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long term strategic and operating plans
  • Contribute to and drive the global standard product/services solution selection
  • Liaise among third-party solution developers and internal key stakeholders
  • Communicate QBEs enterprise architecture to relevant IT and business stakeholders
  • Provide firm-wide thought leadership around leveraging assets to the larger long-term benefit of the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with all relevant parties to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the EA.
  • Recommend the most suitable technical architecture & define solution at high level
  • Identify and recommend areas appropriate for further study and participate in any projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of QBEs business and IT strategies
  • Support the development of QBE’s IT strategy and the development of QBEs future enterprise architecture state
  • Manage QBE’s enterprise architecture including the current status of processes, data, applications and infrastructure to support QBE.
  • Identify new or technology improvement opportunities across QBE
  • Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses
  • Contribute to a positive environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and adopting QBE values
     

 

What does success look like?

 

  • Significant experience in strategic/enterprise architecture in large, global organisations
  • Experience of taking accountability for conceptual thinking & practical implementation
  • Advanced working knowledge of technology to control and safeguard the collection, organisation, structure, processing and delivery of data
  • Understand business strategy, analyse business processes, and propose technical information-based solutions to support the enterprise.
  • Working knowledge of configuration and adaptation, deployment, design patterns, risk management and scalability.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture concepts and tools.
  • Cloud Architecture and how applications/data can be managed in the cloud as well as integration patterns to support hybrid implementation patterns
  • Demonstrated practice of keeping current with new and emerging tools and technologies relevant to Enterprise Architecture.
  • Effectively present information to influence organizational leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Exposure to conducting gap analysis of current state and desired future state
  • The ability to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Significant collaboration & senior stakeholder management with people at all levels
  • Creativity and alternative, open thinking to generate and support new or better ways of doing things.
