Your new role
The responsibilities of the Front End Web Developer will include:
- Responsible for both back-end and front-end development
- Having a working, demonstrated knowledge of WordPress, its themes and plugins
- A combination of programming skills namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Design and UX: understanding element arrangements on the screen, colour and font choices, and user experience
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design
- A demonstrated understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment
- Assist the Technical Lead in implementing solutions, delivering new and improved functionality
- Assisting the Technical Lead by contributing to technical directions of the design and strategy for new and existing digital assets
- Preparing estimates and liaising with internal customers
- Working with project stakeholders to deliver high quality, robust solutions
- Assisting the Technical Lead with design and code reviews, including documentation
- Responding to critical issues that may arise in production
- Providing development and training to other team members
- Assisting the Technical Lead in managing website and app security
- Have a good understanding of industry trends.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in: PHP, HTML5/CSS 3, JavaScript/jQuery, MySQL, plugins, Visual Composer, WooCommerce,
- Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and InDesign)
- Demonstrated knowledge of: domains and DNS management, cPanel and WHM
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agency-like environment
- Keen attention to detail and skilled at time-management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated and extensive experience in the production and maintenance of WordPress websites
- Consultative, cooperative, solutions-oriented, and service-minded perspective
- Strong organisational skills; the ability to successfully manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
