Our client is currently looking for a strong Technical Lead to join their team on a long term contract engagement. This will be a hands on role leading a small team of Java development & support staff. You will be responsible for delivering on a number strategic IT initiatives within agreed timeframes and budgets.
The role would suit an strong technical person who can coordinate and plan development and suport activities across the full SDLC.
Your background and experience should include:
- 10+ years commercial experience in applications development with recent leadership exposure
- Strong technical ability with Java/J2EE and associated technologies
- Recent exposure to .NET will also be seen as highly desirable
- Experience with Enterprise Service Bus (an advantage)
- A well rounded ability with Oracle databases
- An understanding of webMethods will also be beneficial
- Management and leadership experience in a corporate applications development environment successfully delivering high value, large scale projects on time and within budget
- Full SDLC experience (including requirements gathering and all test phases)
- An understanding of current IT trends and a passion to keep abreast of technology innovations
- A consistent work history
- Must embrace change, be flexible, decisive and innovative
- A high attention to detail and foresight to plan for future events
- Strong communication skills to deal with a wide range of internal and external staff and customers
