Our passionate, close-knit team is keen for a MSP experienced Senior Systems Engineer to implement, document and support complex infrastructure and line of business applications for a diverse range of clients.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Manager some of your responsibilities include: 

• Pro-actively leading & owning projects for our clients and supporting team members lead projects

• Assist with the implementation and support of Infrastructure and Cloud solutions 

• Accept, manage and resolve end user support incidents logged 

• Proactive monitoring and response to automated infrastructure monitoring and vendor incident alerts 

• Participate in rotating after-hours/weekend projects & support and monthly patching exercises as required 

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role within a Managed Services Provider. Additionally, candidates who possess any experience in Public Cloud solutions (IaaS and SaaS) or designing IT solutions will be looked on favourably for the role. MSCE or similar highly regarded.  You must have a current full drivers license, and the right to work in Australia.  

Job Description 

This role will be responsible for: 

• Assisting with implementations of Infrastructure and Cloud Projects 

•  (eg. Server Upgrades, RDS Solutions, Citrix, AWS, Azure, Office 365 & Disaster Recovery) 

• Providing Level 1, 2 & 3 support for all Windows Server environments (2008, 2012 & 2016) and Microsoft technology suite products and services (AD, Exchange, Office 365, DNS, DHCP, IIS, ISA) 

• Support and managing client server and network infrastructure 

• Provide support and manage client business line applications 

• Monitor and support all VMWare vSphere, Hyper-V and Citrix virtualisation servers 

• Configure and support all Active Directory & Group Policy as well as all anti-virus software and web servers 

• Provide support to the Architecture and Projects team and work closely with the Service Delivery team 

• Maintain all internal documentation (procedural and technical) 

• Liaise with external vendors and follow up on work 

• Understand and use software deployment tools including WSUS (to deploy security patches, OS updates and service packs) 

Job Requirements 

The successful candidate will need to have: 

• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency 

• Australian Driver's License and available transportation 

• Tertiary qualifications in IT (degree or diploma) 

• Microsoft Certifications (MCSE or MCSA or MCSD) (desirable) 

• 3 + Years’ experience in a Managed Services environment 

• Strong experience with Windows 2003/2008/2012 servers (plus have good experience with supporting DNS, DHCP, WINS) 

• Strong experience with the full suite of Microsoft Office products 

• Good experience with PowerShell scripting 

• Good experience with Active Directory 

• Good experience with VMWare and Hyper-V virtualisation 

• Good experience with RDS / TS and load balancing servers 

• Good exposure to Citrix VDI 

• Good experience with Exchange 2010 / 2013 / Online 

• Good experience with HP and Dell Server and SAN technologies 

• Good exposure with LAN and WAN technologies 

• Good exposure to Connectwise (desirable) 

• Good exposure to N-Central / N-Able (desirable) 

• Worked in an ITIL environment or possess an ITIL certification 

• AWS Certifications (desirable) 

The ideal candidate for this position will possess in depth knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop technologies, network connectivity, virtualisation and security products. Additionally, the ability to manage complex projects will be extremely beneficial.

You must be a good communicator both in written and verbal styles, think on your feet, have the ability to see and act on opportunities and be skilled at working with complexity.
