About the business

Our company specialises in acoustic and theatre design services and in particular performing arts projects. As part of our role, we are linking the digital world to the construction world, and have developed in-house systems for auralisation of sound in the virtual world. Whilst we have a need for a draftsperson, we are looking to develop the role further into 3D AR/VR development of venues.

About the role

We are seeking a draftsperson with skills in architectural documentation and AV systems and also with skills and experience in AR/VR development. You will be familiar with the construction and documentation process, but may not necessarily have worked on large projects in the past.

Ideally, you will have an interest in performance spaces of all types. You must have some technical/construction knowledge, and working knowledge of the BCA and Australian Standards. You will be motivated to develop systems and processes in house to streamline efficiencies.

Great communication skills, and a proactive, approachable and sociable personality are desired.
This is a full time role (40 hours/week).

Only candidates who can live and work full time in Melbourne will meet the client's criteria for this role.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in either AV or Architectural construction documentation
  • Proficient in AutoCad, REVIT, Aconex and Microsoft Office
  • VR/Unity visual model experience
  • Grasshopper, Rhino skills essential
  • Strong Technical experience working on the different phases and typologies of construction
  • Proven track record of working within a team
  • Proactive in developing internal processes
  • BCA, Australian Standards and local authority regulations knowledge
  • Great communicator - written and verbal
  • Have a proactive, approachable and sociable personality
