Job Vacancy
We are currently seeking applications for a Design Draftsperson to join our Business Asset Management Team located in the Burdekin region.
Job Description
The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Set design deadlines and milestones on assigned projects in consultation with the Design Engineer and any other relevant stakeholders
- Source design information needed (including external designers, suppliers and others) to ensure the appropriate and timely development of design drawings
- Provide technical advice for project design, scope and management meetings
- Produce engineering, mechanical and drafting drawings, workshop drawings and documents required for the general equipment installed within the business (including schematic drawings, construction drawings, isometric drawings, process and instrument flow diagrams, and general arrangement drawings)
- Update drawings with relevant As-Built information and maintain an accurate drawing register
- Ensure design projects are completed on time and within budget and to agreed standards
Experience Required
- Diploma in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering or greater
- Relevant design experience within a heavy industry environment and trade qualification is preferred within the sugar industry
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite of applications
- Proficient in use of Computer-aided design software (e.g. AutoCAD and Inventor)
- Ability to guide and support others, and work in a team environment.
- Apply Australian Design Rules and Australian Standards to designs
- Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and prioritise accordingly
