About the Role:

As a member of the Verification team, the Verification Officer is responsible for the core business function of coding medical, ancillary and hospital claims using state of the art Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) technology.

Accuracy of data capture is critical to HCF in ensuring that appropriate benefit payments are made to members and providers in accordance with provider agreements, as such the incumbent performs quality control audits to ensure that accuracy benchmarks are met on a continuous basis. This role has a strong customer service focus and provides quality service in responding to enquiries raised by internal stakeholders, providers and members.

  • Keyboard and accuracy of data input skills
  • Ability to adapt positively to changing work practises and needs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Polite and professional telephone manner
  • Desire and commitment to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivator, able to perform required tasks with minimal supervision
  • Good organisational skills
  • Must be well presented and with a professional manner
  • Strong commitment to providing quality service to both internal and external customers
  • Sound knowledge of all HCF products and procedures
