We’re 14-years-old and a homegrown start-up with offices in Sydney, London, San Francisco, Toronto and Melbourne. We aim to make every piece of content accessible to everyone. From TV programs to live sport and events, we deliver live and closed captioning for customers around the globe including Facebook, Amazon, Channel Nine, Seven, the United Nations, Foxtel and BBC Worldwide.

Our Offline Captioning department are a dynamic, fast-paced, driven team that work to tight deadlines and troubleshoot technical issues on a daily basis. This year we're launching a global platform that will enable people from anywhere in the world to contribute to making the world a more open and accessible place.

You will join a team of Offline Operations Assistants that ensure the timely coordination and delivery of offline caption files to all Ai-Media clients. You will also learn how to create closed captions used for broadcast television programs as well as create captions for video content used by the deaf community.

If you have experience of working in a fast-paced, high pressure and deadline driven environment then we'd love to hear from you. This is a casual role where you will work on a roster across 5 days. There may be the opportunity to move into a full time role in the near future.

This position is based at our office in Melbourne.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Coordinate the delivery of caption files by their client deadlines (clients include Channel Nine, Channel 7, Foxtel, NBC Universal, Discovery and BBC)
  • Troubleshoot issues in order to ensure caption files are delivered on time and to the Ai-Media quality standards
  • Liaise with broadcast TV clients to understand captioning requirements and respond to urgent requests
  • Create caption files for TV programs
  • Contribute to improving systems and workflows within Ai-Media.

In order to succeed in this role, you should have the following:

  • Ability to problem solve independently, multi-task and prioritise
  • Interest in the broadcast/media industry
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a high pressured environment
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
