An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Legal Coordinator to join DLA Piper to support the Intellectual Property & Technology practice in Sydney.

As Senior Legal Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Undertaking work of a confidential nature, requiring a high level of legal administrative expertise
  • Co-ordinating the Hub's management of team workflow requirements and delegation of tasks to the members of the Hub (major work requirements, projects and priorities, travel arrangements)
  • Identifying issues and liaise with Partners, Hub project team and business support functions to promptly resolve problems/inefficiencies and facilitate continuous improvement
  • Continuously assessing Hub processes and procedures and collaborating with Senior Legal Assistants to identify and implement improvements as necessary
  • Liaising with Location Heads and HR regarding resource requirements, including recruitment and casual staffing needs
  • Co-ordinating Hub leave requests to ensure adequate coverage
  • Attending and contribute to Hub member's Performance Reviews, after seeking feedback from fee earners and others
  • Identifying and arranging learning & development needs of Hub and individuals
  • Regularly attending fee-earner team meetings (for part or whole of meeting) and Hub meetings (both internal office and other state offices)
  • Identifying process issues and interfaces with Finance, IT and other support areas
  • Acting as Billing Co-ordinator on a rostered/shared or assigned basis

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a legal secretary/team coordinator, ideally within a commercial law practice.  You will possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), demonstrate an eye for detail and strong initiative.  You thrive in fast-paced working environments and will relish the opportunity to exercise your established time management and organisational skills in your delivery of exceptional client service.

Technically, you will demonstrate intermediate proficiency in the MS Suite and possess a minimum typing speed of 65wpm.

The ability to work well in a team environment coupled with an enthusiastic approach to all tasks will secure your success in this role.
