It is a critical position reporting into Project Managers and working on Star Group's construction project sites.

In conjunction with Project Managers, this position is responsible for preparing, examining, analysing, negotiating, and revising contracts that involve the construction project. It provides contract and administrative services and support to the project team on site and coordinates activities relating to the contract to ensure performance requirements, delivery and schedules are met. This is an autonomous, fast-pace and attention to detail position that interacts with multiple stakeholders on the project.

Key Responsibilities of the position:

  • Ensure all contract documentation for project is recorded and accurate
  • Maintain and develop project databases and records for the contract
  • Maintain documentation and management control of drawings and contracts
  • Review with team to ensure project activities are conforming to contract requirements and acceptable deliveries
  • Coordinate contract notices, claims and amendments between the client
  • Assist with project monthly financial monthly reports
  • Assist with the management of contractual variations to the project
  • Coordinate invoicing and other contractual activities.
  • Assist with compiling data and reports for internal stakeholders such as estimating team
  • Assist with managing quotations, drafting, negotiating and managing contract agreements for subcontractors and suppliers for the project
  • Organise and manage completion of safety, environmental and quality assurance documentation and that it is filed correctly
  • Assist project team where required.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Completion of a construction management qualification (desirable)
  • Previous experience in contract administration in construction industry (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy during fast pace environment
  • Experience with prioritising and meeting deadlines within short notice
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft office suite especially Excel and Access database
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also autonomously without being micromanaged
  • Ability to maintain composure under all circumstances
  • Ownership, responsibility and accountability for the tasks undertaken
