Department Name: SydPath - Anatomical Pathology



Position Summary:



The Anatomical Pathology department is a busy pathology unit within SydPath - St. Vincent’s Pathology. The department is seeking to fill a position of Administration Officer Level 6. The incumbent of this interesting and challenging role provides senior administrative support. The position works closely with the department heads and plays a proactive and intergral part in ensuring activities within the unit are undertaken in an efficient, professional and timely manner within an accountable customer focused service culture.



The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

Selection Criteria:

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative support with a high level of competency in medical typing, transcriptionist with 60wpm typing speed.
  • Proven commitment to maintaining high standards of professional conduct, including a demonstrated capacity to exercise discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proven high level communication, engagement, collaboration and interpersonal skills, with capability to build, maintain and use relationships with staff, customers and stakeholder; and to ensure close and effective working relationships within the team.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise and multi-task in achieving goals
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to accurately prepare, and critically review, all written documents including correspondence, minutes and reports.
  • Demonstrated a high level of proficiency in the use of relevant office software systems and processes including as a minimum Word, Excel, and Power point.
  • Proven effectiveness as a team player including a flexible self- motivated approach to work, an ability to accept responsibility, problem solve and take initiative, and a capacity to participate in a team.
