The Company

Local government organisation based in Merrylands requires a HR Administration Officer for a temporary role for immediate start until mid December 2018.

The Role

  • Provide secretarial, clerical and support services in the efficient and effective operations of Human Resource Services.
  • Contribute to the review of policies and procedures annually and as required ensuring that legislative requirements are updated where necessary.
  • Contribute to the review and update of work plans as required and ensuring that work processes are undertaken within/according to established work plans.
  • Assist with basic Award/Agreement interpretation advice
  • Ensure documents, correspondence, minutes, agenda, memorandums etc are typed accurately and saved to Council’s Recordkeeping system (TRIM) correctly
  • Update documents on the Council’s intranet site as/when required
  • Prepare documentation, draft letters/correspondence on behalf of Manager, operate office equipment, answer telephone calls, take messages as required, order stationary and check deliveries, prepare when required for team meetings agenda and any other generalist office duties.
  • Undertake bookings of rooms for meetings/training
  • Coordinate purchase orders/cheque requisitions/petty cash to process payments for various HR related activities
  • Assist in organising and making of promotional HR related newsletters
  • Provide administrative support and assistance to HR Team
  • Undertake onboarding interviews and record results for quarterly reporting
  • Undertake data entry of exit questionnaire results for quarterly reporting.

The Candidate

  • Relevant qualification in an administrative/clerical or HR field
  • Experience of 5 or more years working in an administrative/clerical or HR general environment
  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications to develop high level documents
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to meet targets and work in a team
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Attention to detail
