Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Medical Secretary to join their team.

Your new company
Our client is looking for an experienced, motivated Senior Medical Secretary to join their team located on the Sunshine Coast.

Your new role

  • You will provide support to the Specialist Doctor/ Practitioners and Management
  • This is a temporary ongoing assignment working 5 days a week and business hours
  • Provide strong patient / customer service, both in person and via the telephone
  • Carry out all aspects of administration as needed
  • Be responsible for incoming and outgoing mail, handling petty cash, receipting of monies received and reconciliations
  • Manage patient billings and bookings, liaising with Medicare and other Healthcare funds, produce surgery fee estimates, organise and coordinate theatre lists
  • Maintain office supplies and general filing
  • Respond to a variety of requests with a matter of urgency and confidentiality
  • Required to supervise junior staff in the future



What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Senior Medical Secretary ideally with a background working with a Specialist Practice or Hospital
  • You MUST have exceptional computer literacy, highly developed organisational skills AND analytical skills
  • Maturity to handle a range of situations working to tight deadlines
  • Must show loyalty and a high level of confidentiality, are able to show initiative, have a meticulous and thorough nature.
  • Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced experience with the Microsoft Office package is critical along with fast and accurate typing/ dictation abilities (testing will be conducted) with a minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute.
  • Experience within medical software programs is mandatory, ideally in GENIE systems
  • Qualifications in Medical/ Health will be highly regarded
