Cooinda Cat Resort, located on 5 tranquil acres with private secure garden play yards, on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula just 50 minutes from Melbourne, provides loving care for feline family members while their families are on holidays, are in hospital or undertaking home renovations.
With 5 purpose built buildings all featuring abundant natural light and designed with purrrrrfect walk-in sized premium apartments, luxury suites & villas, as well as highly experienced kitty carers and owners who live on site, our customers are assured peace of mind.

This role includes working within the cattery with cats and as well as in the office with our human customers and driving the Kitty Kab taxi.

General animal attendant duties include:

• Cleaning of cat rooms and items
• Handling cats with different personalities and requirements
• Feeding cats
• Maintaining detailed animal records
• Reporting changes in animal behaviour
• Grooming
• Administering medication

Office administration duties include:

• Customer service
• Taking bookings and customer enquiries
• Data entry
• Organising arrival and departure of guests
• Processing payments

Kitty Kab duties include:

• Being available to start as early as 5am.
• Hold a current drivers license and have a clean driving record
• Delivering and picking up guests according to the set schedule from the Mornington Peninsula to the CBD and beyond.

This is a casual position of 12 - 24 hours a week and may lead to increased ours during the busy peak holiday periods. Our business is open 365 days a year and this role requires you to be available to work not only weekdays, but weekends, and on some public holidays, Christmas and Easter depending on roster scheduling. This schedule is ideal for people who appreciate time off to enjoy their hobbies or other pastimes at off-peak times when everyone else is working

Because of the level of service we are known for, it's important you have experience handling cats and understand how they need to be taken care of. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with animals. That means you are physically fit and have no ailments or conditions that would limit your ability to undertake the physical tasks required. But more importantly, you enjoy being with animals and rolling up your sleeves to get the job done.

With the large number of cats we take care of, you need to enjoy multi-tasking and having a lot of different things to do. This role is ideal for you if you are autonomous and like to work on your own, while still being part of a team. We don't micro manage staff, but we do have metrics we adhere to and track on an on-going basis. That means you will know how well you are doing with constant feedback and monitoring.


Even though this is a hands-on role taking care of cats, the underlying systems and process are all computerised. To support the admin team you will need to be Internet and computer savvy and have a great attention to detail. We will do extensive on-the-job training, but you need to be comfortable with basic computer tasks. Due to the size of our business and popularity of our services, you need to be able to learn and work quickly having a high attention to detail. The capacity to retain information is also important as you will be dealing with many different animals and customers on a day to day basis.

Having your own reliable transportation is important to get to and from our location since public transport is, unfortunately, not readily available.
