About Us
The Veterinary Health Centre (VHC) is the University of Adelaide’s clinical teaching facility, offering a range of first opinion, ambulatory and specialist veterinary services across all animal species to the general public and referring veterinarians. As a unit of VHC, the Equine Health and Performance Centre (EHPC) is a state-of-the-art primary practice and referral care veterinary clinic offering the latest technology, equipment and professional services to the horse-owning community. The EHPC offers high quality first opinion, referral and 24/7 emergency and critical care veterinary services to the public, including a day and afterhours ambulatory (on farm) service, and provides a clinical training environment for final year veterinary students working under the close supervision of experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses and support staff.

Location
The EHPC is situated on the University’s picturesque Roseworthy Campus, approximately 9km from the township of Gawler and on the doorstep of the world-renowned Barossa Valley wine region. With the local schools, restaurants and amenities of Gawler, a relaxed lifestyle and affordable housing, but only an hour from the CBD of Adelaide, the location truly offers the best of both worlds.

The Role
As a result of expansion to the services we are providing, we are seeking suitably qualified veterinary nurses for multiple roles available to provide high quality primary, emergency and critical care services to all equine patients. Equine nursing duties include both working within the Hospital setting undertaking consultations with Internal Medicine Specialists and providing care of hospitalized patients, including emergency triage and critical care.  Working with Equine Surgeons on elective and emergency procedures. Provide support for Sports Medicine procedures both in hospital and in the field.  Provide support and assistance to Primary Opinion Clinicians for both emergency and non-emergency consultations both in hospital and in the field.  Working as part of the EHPC clinical team you will be required to work through a 24/7 roster, which includes weekend and Public Holidays.
