Jumbuck Pastoral area family run, fourth generation Australian business with large scale sheep and cattle stations throughout Australia.
We seek an experienced Dog Fence Patroller for Mulgathing in the NW pastoral area of South Australia. Located in the Coober Pedy region and west from the Stuart Highway, the station covers 530,000 hectares and runs up to 30,000 Merino sheep. Situated in 175mm rainfall country, it is well resourced with the station divided into 80 paddocks watered by 32 bores and 156km of pipeline servicing the numerous watering points.
The Patroller reports directly to the Station Manager. You will primarily be responsible for the maintenance, upkeep and repair of the Dog Fence. Additionally, you will be required to routinely set and check vermin traps, engage in pest management and monitor the various livestock watering points along your route.
The position is highly independent and suits a resourceful person, experienced at living and working in remote and isolated places. You will need to be an experienced fencer, be skilled at using a 4WD off road and as the position requires you to be camped out during the week, confidence in the bush is a must.
A competitive wage is available with a vehicle and tools provided. The position requires the successful applicant to hold a current fire arms license.
