We need you to be part of our dedicated program team to provide the greatest benefit to families expecting a new baby or with young infants. In this varied and challenging role you will be part of a team that provides round the clock support to families through accommodation and links with other services.

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.
We’re ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children’s rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there’s a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:
In this casual position (afternoon and overnight work required), you will be part of a team that delivers programs and services that promote positive approaches to parenting and family wellbeing. You will strengthen links to the community and assist with administration and documentation for the Supported Accommodation program. You will be part of our Ceduna team and report to our Team Leader.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing group and individual support to families from a child centred approach
  • Supporting families to access the assistance they need, when they need it
  • Actively working with and encouraging families to identify and achieve goals
  • Collecting and recording data and information for accountability, evaluation and reporting

If we could compose the perfect you…
… You’re an enthusiastic, committed, and focused team player with a demonstrated ability to think on your feet to find solutions to complex situations. Your exceptional cultural knowledge will help you build strong connections with people from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You’re not afraid of a challenge and constantly seek to grow and develop.

This role requires:

  • Experience supporting children and their families who are vulnerable or at-risk, or in socially and geographically isolated communities
  • Experience working in or with Aboriginal communities/people and demonstrated application of inclusive development practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an honest, friendly approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Demonstrated experience working in remote or complex environments
  • Strong time management and organisational skills

Working at Save the Children is more than just a job.
It’s the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same.

What we offer:

  • Award rate salary
  • Mentoring and support for you to make a difference
