Role Primary Purpose

The General Manager Housing Services reports to the CEO and drives the delivery of the business strategy in the key operational portfolios of Tenant Services, Asset Services and Service Development. They are responsible for delivering a commercially sustainability organisation which delivers the Bric vision through effective people, policy and systems.

The role is responsible for:

  • Inspirational leadership that drives accountability and performance and builds and maintains an environment of trust and accountability.
  • Developing and implementing a best practice service delivery model that meets internal and external KPI's, financial targets, customer expectations and compliance obligations.
  • Delivery of affordable homes and accommodation that meets legislative and, contractual requirements, strategic asset management plan and the asset budgets and KPI's.
  • Overseeing the operating budget, ensuring financial KPI's are met and monitoring and reporting on variations with the support of the CFO and CEO.
  • Developing partnerships of strategic importance that support the ongoing growth of bric Housing and delivering improved outcomes for tenants.
  • Driving the development and implementation of the Sustainable Communities and Tenant Engagement Strategy and related projects, programs and research.
  • Driving reform and innovation throughout the operations department through competitor, market and customer evaluation and analysis.
  • Support the CEO to grow and diversify the housing and services offered at Bric by contributing to tenders, grants and other new business opportunities and being a respected member of the QLD and Australian community housing sector.
  • Support the CEO to lead best practice operations through ensuring quality and compliant systems and processes are in place that meet legislative, contractual and registration requirements.

The community housing sector in Queensland and nationally is a rewarding yet commercially demanding, competitive, changing and often uncertain policy environment. To be considered for this role you must address the following selection criteria in your application:

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant business or human services degree and/or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 5 years' senior management experience in community housing with accountability for either or both Tenant Services and Asset Services
  • Proven experience in business and opportunity development, customer and market analysis, partnerships development, and achieving significant business growth and organisational change.
  • Proven experience improving service models, efficiencies and outcome and improving outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged customers through community and tenant engagement programs and strategies.

Any successful candidate must be the holder of, or ability to pass a Australian Criminal History Screen, have a current driver's licence and be a role model of ethics, integrity and a commitment to social inclusion and improving the lives of those who are disadvantaged.
