ProCare Australia is currently recruiting for a range of short and long term assignments for our diverse range of clients.

This is an expression of interest for experienced and professional Intensive Family Support Practitioners.

Locations span across Brisbane Metro areas including Ipswich & western regions, Logan and North Brisbane. Experience in child protection, early intervention and mental health highly desirable. Locum and permanent positions available.

Our customers provides wide ranging services to vulnerable members of the community. They assist people through early learning and youth services, family support and homelessness initiatives, employment and skills development and affordable housing.

Child & Family Services provide intensive family support within the Child Protection system to decrease risks to children and strengthen families, reducing the numbers of children entering Out of Home Care. They also support restoration, reuniting families.  

Your new role

Partnering with a small number of at risk families, you will undertake an initial assessment of the family's strengths and needs. Your case plans will empower families to make lasting change, build upon their resilience to reduce the risk of significant harm and support restoration.

In addition to case management, you will provide therapeutic support (group work and counselling) for parents or carers, children, or the family as a whole.

The role involves case management of families experiencing issues relating to mental health, drug and alcohol, disability, criminal activity, family and domestic violence or significant child protection concerns.


To Be Successful

As a qualified Social Worker, Psychologist or Case Worker, you will have a tertiary qualification and

  • A strong understanding of Child Protection, Statutory Intervention and early intervention
  • Demonstrated skills in a strengths based practice framework and therapeutic approach
  • High level written and verbal communication skills; you will be confident when documenting case notes or preparing reports for the Department
  • Ability to plan, implement, facilitate and monitor family intervention activities
  • Demonstrated crisis management skills
  • High level referral and advocacy skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills and experience working with the families experiencing a wide range of challenging, complex and culturally diverse issues
  • Current Blue Card (Working With Children); or able to obtain
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Eligible to obtain National Criminal History Check


Salary and Benefits

Salary packages range from $60,000 - $70,000  plus Super

A vehicle will be available for work purposes and any travel that may be required.
