At the Salvation Army Employment Plus (EPlus), our experienced employment teams have been empowering people to find the right job since 1998 as part of the Australian Government's Employment Services network. We've worked with over 200,000 businesses across Australia and seen well over half a million Australians successfully placed in employment. We’re now excited to expand our service to the Department of Employment’s newly created Transition to Work (TTW) program that focuses on those aged 15 to 21.
As a Youth Employment Consultant with the TTW program you will provide professional case management and assessment services to our youth candidates that will successfully re-engagement them in education or provide them the ability to transition in to sustainable employment.
Often working autonomously to manage your caseload of over 75 young people, you’ll work in individual and group sessions to clearly identify and address the barriers which are currently preventing them from re-engaging with education or being job ready.
Your person centred approach to case management will involve each candidate in goal setting and decision making and will ensure you have identified their key strengths and aptitude to the in-demand roles in your local labour market. Knowing which jobs are available and suitable to your clients is vital and your well developed and maintained relationships with local employers will enable you to match candidates to the right roles at the right time.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive experience in case management;
- Demonstrated awareness of current education, employment and social challenges faced by young people;
- Strong demonstrated experience facilitating group learning and information sessions focused on gaining employment;
- Advanced communication skills, including the ability to identify and develop key employer and community organisation relationships that will support your clients; and
- Demonstrated success in a high performance culture within a KPI driven environment.
While previous experience in either Job Active or previous similar programs to TTW will be highly regarded we will consider candidates from closely aligned community service programs in youth or disability services whee barrier management was a key part of your role.
