About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Tenancy Relations/Property Officer to join our team located in Newcastle on a permanent fulltime basis. Reporting to the Executive Manager Operations Hunter you will be responsible for delivering a range of quality tenancy management services within our operations team.

You will have the skills, ability and willingness to work with a diverse range of people, have a proactive approach to your tasks and possess excellent customer service skills. You will be able to adapt to changing requests and deadlines and possess strong organisational skills.

Essential Selection Criteria

To be considered for the role, you must address these criteria in your application.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role or property management;
  • Solid understanding of tenancy management and legislative requirements;
  • Experience in preparing for and representing at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal;
  • Experience with leasing, managing breaches of the Residential Tenancy Agreement, arrears management, rent calculations and rent reviews;
  • Demonstrated highly developed organisation skills and the ability to undertake tasks independently;
  • Well developed and effective interpersonal, de-escalation and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated understanding of sustainability through contributing to more efficient workplace processes;
  • Certificate IV in Social Housing or relevant experience in the social or community housing sector desirable but not essential;
  • Current drivers licence

You will bring to this role your ability and experience in:

  • Signing up new leases and filling vacant properties;
  • Managing a tenancy;
  • Management of responsive and vacated maintenance;.
  • Solid understanding of tenancy management and legislative requirements;
  • Arrears management;
  • Tribunal-both representation and preparation;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working across the business to provide the best outcomes for tenants and our organisation;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Effective time management and prioritisation.
