CHILD, YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICE

Vista's Child Youth and Family Program provides accommodation and support for young people who are unable to live at home and who have been referred through the Child Protection Program.

THE ROLE

  • Providing care to complex clients in a therapeutic residential care environment
  • Work as part of an enthusiastic and caring team to provide physical and emotional support to young people
  • Contribute to the daily running of the house i.e. cooking, household chores, shopping
  • Support the young people to access and attend sporting, recreation and social events
  • Attend to administrative tasks

We staff our houses 7 days a week and you will be required to work a range of 8 hour shifts, including afternoon, sleepover and weekend shifts.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • You must hold a either a Certificate IV qualification in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or a relevant minimum Certificate IV qualification and have completed the Residential Care Skill Set top-up training
  • Have worked with complex customers
  • Have a genuine interest in working with youth
  • Be flexible in your ability to work different shifts, including weekends
  • Have a common sense, calm approach to your work
  • Be respectful, non judgmental and responsible
  • Possess a current Drivers License
