Orana is a leading provider of disability residential, employment, respite and skill development services in metropolitan and regional South Australia.
We are currently seeking a Developmental Educator to promote and encourage skill development, independence and quality of life for people with disability accessing Orana's services. Reporting to the Manager Capacity Building this role will be responsible for:
- Develop, implement and review individualised positive behaviour support plans (in liaison with key stakeholders)
- Provide staff training in relation to positive behaviour support plans
- Develop and facilitate a wide variety of capacity building programs for individuals and groups of people that aim to increase independence and skill development
- Empower and encourage clients to implement their NDIS plan
- Empower clients to make choices in support relevant to their goals and create action plans
- Develop person-centred support plans (which include goal setting) for Orana clients in liaison with key stakeholders
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education (or equivalent) essential
- Full membership of the DEAI essential
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment desirable
- Experience in positive behaviour support planning
- Experience in developing and facilitating training programs for people with disability
- Experience and knowledge of working within the NDIS framework is desirable
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills (written and oral)
Special Conditions/Requirements
- Valid DCSI Child-related Screening to be provided at the commencement of employment and to be renewed periodically (every 3 years)
- A willingness to travel
