About the Role
CareSouth are currently seeking Casual Supervised Contact Workers to join our Goulburn team, primarily working in Goulburn and surrounding areas.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Supervised Contact Worker position is responsible for providing high quality supervision for visits between children and/or young persons in care and their families. This position must ensure that the child’s best interests are protected during contact. The aim is to facilitate a safe and constructive contact visit comprising of positive interactions between the parent/participant and child/children in order to build their relationship.
We are looking for individuals who fulfil the following criteria:
- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
- Tertiary qualification (or willingness to obtain upon commencement of employment through a supported study pathway with CareSouth) in a relevant discipline e.g. social welfare, psychology, education, counselling, community services or related experience.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Excellent observational and report writing skills.
- Understanding of child protection and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Sound knowledge of child development.
- Ability to remain impartial at all times.
- Ability to risk assess varying situations.
- Current drivers licence, comprehensively insured vehicle, mobile phone and access to a computer.
