The total salary and benefits package for these 72 hours per fortnight positions may consist up to:
Base wage of $36.60 to $41.56 per hour - $ 68,515 to $ 77,800 per annum
Salary Packaging option to $16,000 - $ 5,500 saved tax (approx.)
Superannuation at 9.5% - $ 6,508 to $ 7,391 per annum
Employee self-care allowance - $ 300 per annum

- 5 weeks’ annual leave with loading at 20%.

About Toora Women Inc.
Toora Women Inc. supports women with complex issues who have experienced past or present traumas such as:
- domestic, family and sexual violence
- mental health issues
- the impact of their own or another’s drug and alcohol use
- homelessness or at risk of homelessness
- the ACT corrections system.
Our current domestic violence, homelessness and AOD health treatment programs range across a variety of settings such as crisis, transitional and head tenancy accommodation, along with outreach support, day program and counselling, allowing Toora to provide a wrap-around trauma-informed care model, in an integrated service system. We deliver these complex services within human rights and gendered framework.
About the Employment Opportunity
A permanent case coordinator position has become vacant to work from our Toora Domestic Violence and Homelessness Service in Canberra ACT.
Toora’s Domestic Violence and Homelessness Service (TDVHS) is an accredited service which offers a range of supports for women (with or without children) and families in all their diversity.
The Case Coordinator provides direct service delivery and ensures quality outcomes for clients who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness. This includes the provision of safe and secure crisis and transitional accommodation and outreach support, and comprehensive case management to address key areas of the client’s health and other needs. The Case Coordinator will assist clients to develop critical analysis of their circumstances and to achieve change in their interpersonal environment and broad social conditions.
Some of your key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Providing crisis, transitional and outreach support to women who are accessing TDVHS within a case management framework, including development of case management plan.
- Facilitating women’s groups, projects and participate in other group work and support activities
- Provide reports on progress of program activities including recommendations, as required.
- Setting priorities and monitoring work flows which may include establishing work programs
What We Are Looking For
Our ideal applicant will have a Diploma in a relevant field (i.e. Community Services) and 2+ years sector experience.
Your experience will cover working with homeless women with high and complex needs, particularly with domestic violence, AOD, mental health, sexual assault, incarceration and women from diverse backgrounds. You will also have a demonstrated capacity to work with challenging behaviours and crisis situations.
Other things we are looking for include:
- Short term intervention skills, advocacy within a feminist framework.
- Comprehensive assessment and engagement skills, knowledge and experience of case management and trauma informed practice.
- Record keeping and data entry skills using SHIP database.
- Relate sensitively with women of diverse cultural, social, economic backgrounds in providing assistance/support to clients in an effective and efficient manner.
- Well-developed communication and teamwork skills.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office
A current driver's licence, valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration and a satisfactory National Police check are requirements for this job. Toora Domestic Violence and Homelessness Service operates a smoke free workplace in accordance with the Workplace Tobacco Management Policy.
