About the role

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Area Manager! You will be responsible for the effective management, coordination and leadership of Wallara initiatives and services in the Dandenong region including multiple Wallara microbusinesses.

To be successful in this role you will have exceptional leadership skills, a solid knowledge and understanding of disability support services, a proactive and innovative approach and the ability to build productive and sustainable relationships with all stakeholders... and you must be up for a challenge! If you are looking to sink your teeth into a hands-on and creative role, make your mark in disability support services and deliver exceptional outcomes this is the role for you!

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualification in Disability, Community or the Human Services field or extensive disability support experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a management or leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in ensuring clients receive quality support and managing staff in a high performance culture
  • A resourceful and innovative approach to creating opportunities for those we support in Wallara’s areas of speciality – Grow, Work, Explore, Live
  • Strong administrative skills and experience in critical incident review and reporting
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a high level of self-awareness
  • Strong conflict management and effective communication skills
  • A person centred approach to service planning and delivery
  • Desire to work in a dynamic and innovative team, within a rapidly changing environment
  • Effective leadership and influencing style
  • Proven ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to think laterally
  • Commitment to exceptional service delivery and a demonstrated professional approach to work
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Commitment to the principles of WHS, EEO, Cultural Diversity and all relevant legislation

Must haves

  • Right to work in Australia
  • Mandatory police check and Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme (DWES) check will be conducted
  • Full Victorian drivers licence
  • Certificate in First Aid Level 2 + CPR
