Team Leader - Client Programs
As a Christian organisation, with a heritage of service spanning 160 years, we serve older people and those who are vulnerable or marginalised by providing a range of accommodation, care and community services.
Due to staff movement, we are looking for a Team Leader - Client Programs to oversee our programs across Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury. As there are multiple village locations (2 in Blue Mountains, 1 in Richmond), where you are based can be negotiated.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will lead a team to deliver a safe, quality centre based and outing programs for older people and people living with dementia. You will ensure this is in accordance with the Organisation’s Values, Vision and Mission by displaying leadership and direction and overseeing the day to day administration of the programs, conditions of funding, budgeting and safety considerations.
This is a fixed-term full-time contract role until 30 June 2020.
Key responsibilities (not limited to):
• Ensures that clients are offered activities that are suited to their individual interests and background and are delivered in a safe, attractive and comfortable environment;
• Ensures a culture of customer service is actively developed within the team, with all team members focusing on what is important to clients and their carers;
• Ensures that staff perform effectively and cohesively by creating a culture that is consistent with the organisation’s Christian vision, mission and values, selecting capable and aligned people who are committed to Christian Care and Rhythm of Life principles;
• Providing supervision of staff which includes feedback and coaching on performance, praise and recognition is given for good work, and managing under performance as needed;
• Ensures that Assessments and Care Plans are completed in a timely manner and regularly reviewed; and
• Ensures quality of service; effective liaison/communication with clients; confidentiality, diversity awareness, provision of information and effective internal and external referral practices.
Skills, knowledge and experience needed:
• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health/Community Services
• Previous experience in HomeCare/Community/Aged Care
• Superior skills in communication including a demonstrated ability to work with older people, people living with dementia and their families/ advocates
• Current C class driver’s licence; LR Licence as required
• Intermediate computer skills in MS Office, experience working with client database systems
