We have an exciting new position that has been created to bring innovative approaches to local employment opportunities in Banyule.

This role will ensure the coordination and development of social enterprise businesses across the municipality. This is achieved through planning, coordination and implementation of opportunities at Council’s own facilities and those in partnership with community organisations

Working closely with the Director of Community Programs and the Internship & Volunteer Programs Officer you will collaborate effectively in delivering the Council Plan commitments in respect to social enterprise opportunities and labour market facilitation.

You will coordinate a variety of programs that focus on employment, internships and link key enterprises and organisations such as employment services, education services and committees.

Selection for this unique role may be based on the criteria below or other listed skills, knowledge and attributes as required in the Position Description:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications with substantial relevant experience in Economic Development, Employment and Labour Market Programs, Project Management, marketing, public relations or community information provision.  (Post-graduate or secondary qualifications in a relevant specialist field would be highly regarded).
• Demonstrated skills and experience in planning, management and delivery of programs and projects.
• Understanding of the principals involved in linking and liaising with employment and training networks to increase the numbers of residents successfully participating in employment, educational and training opportunities.
• Demonstrated experience in facilitation, presentation, liaison, and motivating to achieve service delivery outcomes to a diverse range of individuals, groups and organisations
• A demonstrated capacity to lead staff and achieve agreed outcomes
• Knowledge of, and experience in, sourcing funding/ grants to assist in the support of labour market and employment initiatives.
• Ability to identify customer / stakeholder needs and expectations, decide the appropriate action and respond accordingly.
• Ability to gain cooperation and communicate effectively, both verbally, electronically and in written form (including reports, briefings, graphics and visual communication), to a broad range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Current Driver’s Licence.
