About the role:

We are currently seeking a casual Family Contact Worker to join our team. 

This position will require you to do regular travel throughout the Sydney region and will be based at Bella Vista.

As a Family Contact Worker you will have a positive attitude, the enterprise to work alone, the wisdom to ask for help, the resourcefulness to handle competing priorities and the ability to be proficient in time management. Have an understanding of the stakeholders and the community services in Sydney to be able to engage in for the Children and Young People we support.  

Your verbal communication skills will be outstanding as you liaise with Case Managers, Carers and Natural Parents to facilitate and carry out supervised contacts.  You will be expected to be able to extend on your communication skills through written reports documenting, resound detail for the Children and Young People following policy and procedure of the organisation and our responsibilities under the Child Care and Protection Act. Above all, you are someone who respects professional boundaries and holds the safety of Children and Young People paramount to your values.

About you:

To be considered, you must possess the following:

• Current driver's licence
• Current First aid certificate or willing to obtain one
• Valid NSW Working with Children check
• Cert 3 or 4 in Youth work, Welfare or Community Services or relevant certificates
• Sound practice and knowledge or significant experience in meeting the holistic needs of Children and Young People whilst liaising with their natural parents
• Being able to build strong relationships and rapport with all stakeholders involved
• Ability to work collaboratively in a complex environment as a member of a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with other services
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays, morning, evening, night
• Experience working with Children and Young People who have complex trauma backgrounds
• Experience working with Children and Young People who display difficult or challenging behaviours
