About the program

Wesley Take Charge of Your Life Program is an innovative accommodation program supporting young people transitioning from Foster Care. As the Team Leader you will provide support to two Future Planning consultants and maintain a small caseload working closely with Case Managers and other staff to maximise outcomes for young people transition to adulthood.

 

About the role

We are currently seeking a candidate with experience in Out of Home Care and a solid understanding of the Leaving Care process to lead our team on the NSW Coast. The position will support staff working with young people from Gosford to Ballina.

 

Essential criteria

  • willingness to affirm Wesley Mission’s vision, mission and values and enthusiastically advocate our Word and deed ministry
  • Degree in Social Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 yrs experience working with young people in Out Of Home Care
  • Experience supporting young people transition to independence
  • ability to engage and inspire a passionate team through clear decision making and the provision of a supportive and collaborative management style
  • demonstrated ability to work unsupervised as well as an effective team player with a positive can-do attitude
  • relates well to a range of people with sound listening and problem solving skills
  • experience in managing internal and external stakeholders to achieve set objectives
  • proven organisational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines and budgets
  • demonstrable skills in conflict resolution and change management
  • experience in managing a team and developing team for superior performance
  • excellent written and oral skills, public speaking and presentation capabilities
  • outstanding interpersonal skills
  • proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office

 

Desirable criteria

  • previous management experience

 

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. Level 6
