About the opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced Social Worker / Family Support Worker to work with the families of children who have been placed in out of home care.  The Worker will work provide outreach services.

This is a part time role – approximately 3 days per week, with some flexibility of hours required to meet crisis needs.   The position is initially maximum term for 12 months, with options for extension, or transfer to other Child, Youth and Family services within Uniting in your local area.

In this role, your busy day will include:

  • Outreach services to families to facilitate return home or specific home based care arrangements for young persons
  • Intervening and working with other services to ensure positive outcomes for children, young people and families
  • Developing and implementing collaboratively tailored interventions
  • Ongoing risk assessments
  • Support and reflective supervision from your team leader, clinical specialists and senior management involved in the initiative

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a relevant tertiary qualification in a field related to Social Work or Psychology.
