About the opportunity
Monte Lupo Gallery and Cafe is a Social Enterprise service of Multicap, established in 1991 to provide creative supported employment opportunities for people with a disability. Our cafe is a relaxed environment where assisted employees are offered hospitality training and employment, and our gallery artists develop skills in sculpting and pottery.

About you
This role requires a multi-talented professional to manage the cafe to do stock control and menu planning whilst providing coaching to assisted employees in a skill-building framework. Skills in hospitality and leadership is required to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the cafe.
Your energy and passion for the provision of good food, customer satisfaction and most of all the development of assisted employees is paramount, and through positive role modeling you will assist your team to develop their skills and confidence in their own roles. Each assisted employee is different, so someone who can respond adequately to their needs with emotional awareness and intelligence is needed - most of all, someone who looks for their potential and knows when to help and when to take a step back.
As the Cafe Job Coach, reporting and having support form the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for the running of our Social Enterprise cafe, and balancing the need for a successful commercial business whilst providing coaching and support for employees to build their skills and achieve their goals.
A person centered approach is a must in this role as you will work alongside people with disabilities, to support them during their employment and see their potential for future goals. We might be looking for a needle in a hay-stack, but this is an exceptionally rewarding opportunity, and you will be supported by the Social Enterprise team.
What is needed
- Professional experience in hospitality, cafe, or catering settings.
- Experience, knowledge or understanding of how to support people with a disability (Either from personal experience, or professional).
- A passion to see others grow and develop their skills, with a growth mindset and skill building framework.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card and Yellow Card.
- Food safety certificate (desired).
- Driver's licence.
This is a casual position, whereby the successful applicant will be required to work in both our cafes; one at our Head Office in Eight Mile Plains, and at our Banyo cafe.
