The Organisation
Our customer is a long standing NGO services providing a suite of services to vulnerable members of the community within the greater Logan, Bayside and Scenic Rim regions.
The Role
We are excited to partner with our customer to source qualified Psychologists, Social Workers and/or Paediatric Occupational Therapists to be part of a newly developed program to create solutions for families at the critical in juncture with the statutory child protection system.
This newly developed team will be based in the Logan area, the positons are permanent full time with some out of hours work required.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete timely assessments to determine immediate risks and needs in conjunction with the Department of Communities Child Safety's assessment and screening processes
- Facilitate effective connections with families quickly alongside relevant external services to support child/ren's safety
- Ongoing risk and safety planning and monitoring in collaboration with Child Safety Officer's
- Completion of accurate data entry
- Note: This is not a case management role and is a time-limited intervention service to assist at risk families, for long term success.
To Be Successful
- Relevant Tertiary Degree qualifications
- Demonstrated extensive experience and contemporary knowledge using a variety of assessment tools working with children and families
- A comprehensive and up to date understanding of child protection legislation and practices
- A demonstrated working knowledge of local services and referral pathways to effectively link families into required support systems
- Working knowledge of child development and the impacts of trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACE)
- Proven time management experience and the ability to work independently
- Ability to work with families from diverse cultural and socio economic backgrounds
- Current Working With Children's Check or ability to obtain
- Current Qld Driver Licence
Salary and Benefits
Salary is paid from $79,776 plus super and salary sacrifice
