The Opportunity

As a Cognitive Remediation Clinician, you will work with the Group Manager (Research) to conduct a research project facilitating a computerised cognitive remediation program. This position will assess people's cognitive functioning, deliver the remediation program and support changes in daily functions. It will also support other facilitators, collecting screening and outcome measures including follow-up from participating residents and managing the administration of the project including ethical conduct and required reporting.

The role will also include:

  • Undertake training in the program including assessment of competence; and regular supervision.
  • Assessing and supporting participants to undertake the program.
  • Assist with ethics applications and reporting
  • Developing project implementation plans
  • Participate in the University of Queensland research team meetings with project progress reports and problem solving.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant human service discipline (such as Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or allied health)
  • Eligible or have membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience (minimum 3 years) in drug and alcohol, mental health service delivery, or related field, including experience or knowledge of cognitive remediation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability in facilitating both group therapy and training sessions.
  • Demonstrated experience in reflective practice, client centred practice and evaluation and research.
  • Experience in conducting research projects including writing research reports and publications (desirable).
  • Experience in residential rehabilitation services (desirable).
  • Demonstrated skills in working with/for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal professionals, organisations and communities (desirable).
