You will be accountable to the Legatee Support Team Leader for the provision of Social Inclusion and Community Engagement activities and strategies to enable the Legatees (volunteers) of Legacy NSW Associated Clubs and their beneficiaries to enable them to care for our beneficiaries who consist of War Widow/ers and People with Disabilities.

Many of our beneficiaries are greatly stressed by grief and loneliness. This can lead to a lack of interaction with others, compounding feelings of loneliness and despair. Widows who live alone and have restricted mobility are most likely to suffer from social isolation and are less likely to access support services as a result.

 

The aim of the role is to:

  • Build new and expand upon current relationships with service providers and community groups that increase social inclusion for our beneficiaries, particularly focusing on those at risk of social isolation
  • Create new strategies/ideas and innovative means of providing our activities in a way that is efficient and cost effective

Your new role is an initial 12 month, full time contract and works closely with the Activities and Community Fundraising Coordinator and Metro Administrators and Regional Office Managers.

 

Some key tasks you will carry out are –

 

  • Create/maintain activities briefs, and ensure internal and external stakeholders know their areas of responsibility, deadlines and key deliverables
  • Share best practice and ensure standardized strategies, activity delivery and procedures throughout the LNAC participating clubs
  •   Work with internal and external stakeholders to seek out funding for newly created and current social inclusion strategies
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to assist in the recruitment and management of volunteers to carry out your new strategies
  • Support the Team Leader with reporting and project planning
  • Provide support to the Events Team for major events, such as Badge Week

 

To be considered for this role you will have the following:

            Essential

 

  • Highly experienced in building associations with new and existing external service providers to maintain current and build new relationships for the organisation
  • Proven experience in building and initiating successful innovative social inclusion and community engagement strategies
  • Proven activities coordination/administration experience (ideally in a Not For Profit)
  • High level of interpersonal / communication skills and proven ability to engage in and build trust and rapport with staff, Legatees and other internal stakeholders across all platforms
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills to effectively organise workload and priorities
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office (with proven intermediate knowledge of Word formatting and Excel data manipulation)
  • Solution focused can do attitude and a genuine desire to help others and achieve results.
  • Well-spoken and groomed with a high degree of integrity and honesty

 

Highly Regarded

 

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in activities/event management
  • Previous experience working with confidential records and information
  • Previous experience with records management (CRM) systems
  • Previous experience working with volunteers
  • Previous experience with emerging technologies such as Skype / Lync
  • Working Knowledge of LEAN and process improvement methodologies
