We are currently seeking experienced professional Residential Youth Workers for various casual positions across the Hunter, Maitland and Newcastle regions.

As a Youth Worker, you will positively engage and provide safety and support to young people in a diverse range of residential and community based activities.  Your goal will be to improve social, educational and emotional outcomes of young people in a safe, caring and supportive environment through positive mentoring.

To be successful for this role, you will require the following:

• Minimum relevant Certificate IV AND/OR working towards a Diploma
• Minimum 6 months experience within a similar role
• Understanding of the Children's and Young Persons Act
• Demonstrated experience working with children or young people with high and complex needs
• Proven ability to work positively with challenging behaviors ensuring a safe and supportive environment is maintained
• Ability to follow and implement individual program plans
• Excellent documentation skills in particular case records, daily shift records and incident reporting
• Ability to work flexible hours including morning, evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Unrestricted NSW drivers license and reliable comprehensively insured vehicle
• A current (paid) Working With Children Check
• Provide 2 work related references
• Willingness to undergo a National Criminal Record Check
