Project Coordinator Suicide Prevention

Full time, fixed term to 30 June 2020,

(subject to funding).

 

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator Suicide Prevention in a full time capacity, located in our Traralgon office. This position will lead the implementation of the Gippsland Place Based Suicide Prevention Program. The program aims to maximise a collective effort and investment, which will facilitate a systematic, coordinated approach to suicide prevention, with sites supported to implement proven suicide prevention interventions.

 

The role of the Project Coordinator Suicide Prevention is to plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and report on all aspects of Placed Based Suicide Prevention commencing in trial sites in Latrobe and Bass Coast.  A key function will be to build relationships with multiple stakeholders and work with the program governance structure to identify and implement the program including both project work and oversight of the commissioning of suicide prevention initiatives, that focus on capacity building and enhancing system effectiveness.

 

Our ideal applicants will have:

  • Tertiary qualification/s in a directly related or relevant health or community development field;
  • Proven experience in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders on complex projects to achieve shared outcomes;
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of best practice health promotion initiatives, including stakeholder communication and engagement, and experience in working with those with lived experience;
  • Strong project management skills including knowledge and understanding of contract and financial management within a commissioning context;
  • A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work with minimum supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology to improve efficiency and outcomes;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to use initiative and be self-motivated;
  • High level written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in working in and contributing to a team environment; and
  • Experience in the service delivery of suicide prevention, mental health and/or alcohol and drugs programs is desirable.
