About the Role…..

 

Sydney Legacy is looking to employ a Community service Worker who can go above and beyond when it comes to delivering services. The right candidate will have previous experience within community services, welfare or age care and sound knowledge of the services available.  

 

Legacy currently provides care and support to over 9,000 widows within the Sydney metro area. These are mainly the ageing and infirm widows of Australia's Second World War, Korea, and Vietnam veterans. Care is provided on the basis of need. While some widows require little more than advice, others require more extensive assistance e.g. pension’s advocacy, providing safety and security, relieving financial hardship, combating social isolation and providing medical care. Regardless of the level of care required, Legacy is committed to ensuring no widow of a deceased veteran will ever face life’s challenges alone. 

To be considered for this role you will have either one of the following or willing to obtain:

  • Minimum Certificate III in community services, welfare or age care services
  • Current Level II First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
  • Sound knowledge of services within age care ; DVA, My age care
  • Previous experience within age care or have worked within the community services industry
  • Willing to travel across South & North East Sydney metro areas and other areas around Sydney metro if required
  • Excellent organisation & time management skills
  • Willing to work independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build rapport and trust with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Attention to detail

 

 

Applicants will be required to undertake a police check, and working with children’s check and must have a current driver’s licence and a roadworthy motor vehicle which is essential for this position.

You will be provided with a Laptop, mobile phone and all essentials necessary to set up your own home office.  

     All new employees must provide evidence of their previous employment and residency          status in Australia and employment is subject to the provision of these documents.

     This is a part time position, working 3 days per week, days can be negotiated
