Who are we:

Flintwood is a not-for-profit (NFP) organisation providing flexible services that enhances the opportunities of people with disabilities to have a varied and fulfilling life within the community. 

The role:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Service Manager will develop, support and supervise a team of support workers by providing operational support, training, guidance, and mentoring, whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

You will:

  • Provide effective leadership and demonstrate effectiveness at a senior level in planning, leading, organising and directing staff, teams and projects.
  • Have demonstrated previous experience managing and leading a  team
  • Have a good level of knowledge and application of Active Support principals.
  • Have demonstrated previous work experience in a senior role in disability support or a community sector organisation.
  • Have completed, or be willing to complete Certificate IV in Disability Work
  • An understanding of and commitment to the principles of Equal Employment & Opportunity, Work Health & Safety (WHS) requirements, Cultural Diversity and Ethical Practices.
  • To be physically fit
  • Be able to lift to the statutory limit
  • Have basic to intermediate skills with Microsoft office suite
  • Be punctual, reliable and flexible
  • Have a strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hold a valid and current Australian Driver's Licence
