The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Youth & Children's Minister to join our dynamic team.
If you are passionate about Youth & Children's Ministry, working alongside and engaging young people in activites and mentoring programs, then this may be the role for you!
Duties include coordinating the Youth & Children's programs which run during the school term and school holidays. The successful person will provide leadership to the volunteers, facilitate mentoring and engage the local community with youth programs.
What we are seeking from you?
- A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army
- An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
- Minimum Certificate IV qualifications in youth-work, chaplaincy, community services or related discipline
- Significant demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of youth programs and activities
- Undergo and satisfactorily complete all components of a Criminal History Record Check
- A current NSW Working With Children’s Check
- Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to attain LR Licence
- Capability to maintain, develop and enhance relationships with key community service provider agencies
- Ability to use SAMIS or similar information recording and reporting system(s)
- 2 years’ experience in working with children/youth/chaplaincy capacity
- Proven experience in mentoring, coaching and the ability to disciple to others
- Proven experience in developing programs, workshops and working with participants from Indigenous and low socio-economic backgrounds
- WHS – knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation
- Professional development required to maintain skills for the role
