About the role

The Coordinator Carer Recruitment and Development is a specialist role responsible for supervising the Carer Recruitment and Support team in NSW. Reporting to the Carer Recruitment and Development Manager in NSW, this position will promote carer recruitment and build the profile of MacKillop Family Services in NSW through community engagement activities.

 About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or related field;
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in service coordination, development and review;
  • Demonstrated experience in carer training and assessment;
  • Experience in out of home care (OOHC including carer recruitment and retention) and demonstrated understanding of out of home care policy, standards and quality frameworks;   
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of multi-disciplinary professional staff;
  • High level of initiative and attention to detail, demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise work;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • An understanding of trauma, attachment and resilience theory, adult learning principles, and child and adolescent development;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in the use of client databases; and
  • Certificate IV in training and assessment desirable
  • Certification as a Step By Step assessor (competency based assessment tool) desirable
