Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is a charitable organisation set up to help seriously ill children and their families. RMHC South Australia is one of the eleven Ronald McDonald House Chapters across Australia.

A unique opportunity has arisen for an inspirational, people focused and experienced Senior Manager to join the RMHC South Australia Chapter in the capacity of Executive Officer, reporting to the Board.

The purpose of the role will be to implement the strategic plan, lead a team of dedicated staff and build partnerships to enhance the brand and profile of the charity in the community.The Chapter is currently responsible for two programs, has a fantastic group of volunteers and is in the process of future growth.

Our Ronald McDonald House provides compassionate hospitality and support for 20 families and the Ronald McDonald Learning Program assists children who have missed significant schooling to catch up on their education.

The Executive Officer’s key responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership, direction and advice in the development of programs, operational and financial plans including the annual budget;
  • Lead the external and internal functions and providing consistent, high level communication to the Board on people, fundraising/community engagement, operations, policy and planning;
  • Promoting and building awareness aligned with the organisations visions, values and brand strategy, including media responsibilities;
  • Coach and develop the team, identifying training needs, mentoring staff to achieve their full potential and creating a positive and collaborative culture;
  • Develop and implement strategies and actively seek opportunities to increase the number of community groups being engaged (including Regional SA) to increase profile and provide fundraising opportunities and revenue growth; and
  • Develop productive and positive working relationships with relevant government, corporate and not-for-profit organisations, as well as with the media.

We are looking for an experienced senior leader who can demonstrate experience in the following:

  • Leading a multi-faceted, high profile organisation with a proven track record in leading staff;
  • Building responsive, collaborative and well connected relationships with multiple stakeholders;
  • Extensive governance knowledge;
  • Successful track record in fundraising;
  • Financial performance in tandem with quality service levels;
  • Thorough understanding of quality and risk systems and continuous improvement;
  • Knowledge of financial and operational practices; and
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications
