Build effective relationships with the team, birthparents, Department of Child Protection, all members of the carer household and other professionals. You must genuinely embrace care and show warmth towards people.

Use your knowledge of trauma and children’s behaviour to promote the positive development of children and young people. Support the collaborative functioning of the care team around the child and ensure that the foster care environment is safe for the child. Work with foster carers to ensure that the needs of children in their care are met and that the child develops and grows.

If you’re looking for a role to utilise your case management and social work skills in a dynamic environment, and dream of making a difference to young people and children who are in foster care placements, we would love to hear from you!
