To assist the homeless of today to rebuild their lives and act to prevent the homelessness of tomorrow.

The Opportunity

St Bart's is developing an exciting new partnership concept that we are proud to be part of.  We are striving to work towards a Housing First Model for the future and are looking to take the first step on this journey through the ‘Helping Homelessness Project’. Set to run over an 18 month period this project will deliver a different way of working for our clients. We are establishing a project team to work with our community partners, real estate agents and landlords to secure housing for the homeless. Ideally we are looking for an experienced, agile and passionate Service Manager to lead, shape and deliver successful outcomes in the housing space.

The person we are looking for will be at the forefront of this new program and will champion the Housing First model.  Working closely with the project team for the next 18 months, they will lead St Bart's on this unique opportunity. The job holder will need to be able to deliver sustainable housing outcomes for people living in St Bart’s transitional housing.

What we are looking for

Ideally the candidate must be able to demonstrate;

 

  • A keen interest and awareness of the community sector and experience of working with client groups who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness, in a best practice approach i.e. trauma informed care, recovery oriented practices and strengths based approach.
  • That you are up for a challenge, working differently and comfortable with managing uncertainty in your work life.
  • Prior experience working in a collaborative client centric case management model, ability to build relationships and work with external parties including clinical and community partners to ensure the right outcome for the individual.
  • Experience assessing and managing risk and client need and providing effective supervision for case workers working in the community. Strong leadership experience and be reflective and responsive to the changing needs of a project environment.
  • Experience in delivering project objectives, effective management of resources and ability to be agile in thinking and in practice.
  • Be successful in delivering positive client outcomes and have demonstrated understanding of the importance of measurement and evaluation in this context

Attributes

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in the community sector or relevant degree in Social Work/ Community.
  • The ability to understand Care Governance and the ability to support a team to embrace this.
  • Experience in project management methodology
  • Adaptable in style and the ability to think differently
  • High level of communication and literacy skills
  • Courage to take risks and find solutions to difficult problems
  • High level of initiative and drive to be adaptable and flexible to new ideas and concepts.
  • The ability to present and articulate outcomes to partnership arrangement
