Do you have a passion for working with an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation which promotes the strength and resilience of Aboriginal people through culturally appropriate healing.
Yorgum seeks interested persons in applying for the above positions located in Albany and Kalgoorlie.
About Yorgum:
Yorgum aims to offer Aboriginal people an autonomous, Aboriginal-specific community-based counselling and referral service that acknowledges the impact of colonisation on Aboriginal people.
We provide an environment to enhance the healing process for Aboriginal individuals and their families experiencing emotional distress, and working towards empowerment collectively and individually.
At all times we operate within the framework of the Aboriginal Terms of Reference and within the principles of trauma informed.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants must demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria listed below.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Children and Communities Act 2004.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with Aboriginal families, community and services.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal Terms of Reference and Cultural Competency.
- Demonstrated experience in client case management.
- Demonstrated organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of computerised information management systems, including database.
Essential Eligibility Requirements:
Certificate IV in Community Services or demonstrated experience in the relevant social services
- Work outside of standard business hours is a requirement
- Current C Driver’s License
- Working with Children’s Check
- Police Clearance not less than six (6) months old
