A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a talented and experienced Major Gifts Manager to join a dynamic and ambitious fundraising team.

Client Details

Working for an international organisation with a sole focus in improving the quality of life for those less fortunate you will take a passionate and professional approach to your work. You will be responsible in developing and implementing a Major Gifts relationship management plan with the objective of securing Major gifts through identifying and cultivating relationships with supporters.

This role works with a high level of autonomy and reports to the Senior Manager of Major Partners. You will work collaboratively with other members of the fundraising team and build effective relationships with other leaders and staff across the organisation.

Description

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Qualify and relationship manage a caseload of Major Gift Supporters
  • Develop individual Major Gift Supporter prospect plans employing a range of cultivation strategies to build and maintain effective and lasting relationships
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of relationship management activities to learn and adapt strategies
  • Prepare comprehensive briefs and proposals that align with Major Gifts supporter's interests and funding requirements
  • Lead and support others to negotiate and secure income from Major Gift Supports
  • Manage direct mail, supporter calling, website and social media
  • Contribute content to a quarterly Major Gift Supporter newsletter
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Profile

To be successful in the role you will develop and build on relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and you will relationship manage a portfolio of over one hundred current and prospective supporters. You will be required to drive all aspects of the giving cycle, from identifying supporters, nurturing and stewarding relationships and managing the aftercare and follow up. This role is a pivotal part of the fundraising team and you will need to be a fast thinker, adaptable and be happy to roll your sleeves up from time to time.

To be considered for the role you must have the following skills and experience:

  • A strong understanding of general communications and fundraising skills
  • 5 years plus experience in a Major Gifts or Fundraising role in a NFP organisation
  • Ability to connect with supports to understand their needs and interest
  • A proven track record in securing significant funds
  • Excellent analytical skills with particular emphasis on extracting key findings
  • Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and forward planning
