They work collaboratively with all levels of government, as well as partner organisations and stakeholders, and aim to positively influence government policy through a fact-based, consistent and member driven approach. 

 

About the role

The Business Manager will oversee the office operations for the Committee for Gippsland and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. This role will be primarily responsible for front of house operations, development of events, management of digital platforms and membership[SM1]  support. The Business Manager has an advisory role to the CEO on all matters relating to events, membership and operational related matters. The position will also provide significant day to day assistance with the Office’s stakeholder engagement roles and functions, as well as manage a Business Administration Trainee. This position has a requirement to work out of hours, which will require occasional evening or weekend work.

 

Duties

  • Oversee the daily management of the office operations
  • Provide support to the Finance Manager
  • Assist with the ongoing content management and expansions
  • Lead and manage corporate activities for the Office, records and document management, purchasing and procurement, facilities and accommodation, local IT systems support, and occupational health and safety
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Provide support to the Chief Executive Officer and other team members
  • Coordinate the preparation of the monthly newsletters, member communications and reports for the Chief Executive Officer
  • Provide support and guidance for a Business Administration Trainee


Skills & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in business management or equivalent will be well regarded
  • Well established project management skills
  • Sound knowledge of and experience working in stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good writing skills with demonstrated experience in preparing well structured, authoritative business proposals and reports
