Casual Educator
Out of School Hours Care
We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun and passionate individual to join our team. We are a 90 place not for profit Centre in North Turramurra. Offering a high quality and accredited service we are open for Before and After school Care, along with Vacation Care in the School holidays.
In the role, you will be responsible for the care and supervision of 4-12-year-old children and actively support the development, implementation and evaluation of the education program.
We are looking for someone to engage and participate in the planning and implementation of outdoor leisure activities along with a variety of creative and indoor activities that support children’s interest.
Other duties include, safe food handling and assisting in food preparation and kitchen clean up, WHS checks and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Attendance in staff meetings and the opportunity to attend professional development training and courses.
The position is for a regular casual with availability over at least 3 afternoons of the week. Hours will vary between 2:00pm – 6:30pm.
During the school holidays, we also offer vacation care between the hours of 7:00am – 6:30pm.
Selection Criteria
· Previous work experience working in an OOSH or Childcare centre (preferred)
· Experience working with children 4 to 12 years of age
· Have a good understanding of the needs and development of children aged 4 to 12 years
· Ability to use initiative, take directions and work effectively as part of a team
· Ability to maintain a clean and well-organized leisure activities environment
· Have a current Working with Children (WWCC) number
· Have an understanding of Outside school hours care, National Quality Standards and National Regulations
· Studying in Education, hold a Certificate III or IV in out of school hours care or children services or relevant field (desirable not essential)
· A current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
· Accredited in child protection training (or willing to obtain)
